Tonglen is a meditation practice I learned from Pema Chödrön where our heart gets to know suffering. This might feel counterintuitive, but training our hearts/minds to known suffering helps us meet the suffering with more care and compassion. This is a really powerful practice when you stick with it on a daily basis. This is a great practice to visit when you see loved ones struggling or you yourself are met with suffering.
