This 15-minute Urge Surfing meditation is a helpful practice to mindfully work with inner impulses, cravings or desires. This urge can be anything from wanting another cookie, noticing an impulse to text a romantic partner, wanting to quit a job, cancel/make plans, have a difficult conversation etc.
Learning to sit with and observe our inner sensations and dialogue around urges is important because it helps us pause so that we can respond “wisely” to the urge and act with our best intention, instead of letting the urge control us.
